Kentucky's first Adult Skating team formed in 1966. Team members ranging in age from 34 to 76, are professionals, housewives, mothers, fathers and grandparents. All are members of the Ice Skating Institute and participate in the proficiency testing for achievement as outlined in the rules and guidelines of that official body.

Skating competitions and exhibitions, the group has performed in many cities. They have skated in the opening ceremonies of the Cincinnati Riverfront Coliseum, Mt. Lebanon Arena in Pittsburgh, opening of the Lexington Ice Arena in Lexington, Ky., performed during hockey team intermissions at the Checkerdome in St. Louis, Missouri. The team traveled to Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong to promote Ice Skating for adults, by introducing this challenging spirit as a form of exercise, they can enjoy its beauty and creativity as they make new friends and find a fun way to fitness.

The "Moms on Ice and One Pop" also give back to the community... for the past 25 years members of the team have volunteered and the group has donated hundreds of dollars to the Kentucky Special Olympic Ice Skating Program. If you'd like more information on how you can join the team contact Lorene Caudill in the office.
